Who Is Denise?

Denise Dumeyer was certified by the American Society for the Alexander Technique (AmSAT) after she graduated from a three year, full time program at The Alexander Training Institute of Los Angeles. She currently teaches at the Pacific Conservatory of the Performing Arts (PCPA), Acting Conservatory, in Santa Maria. Previously, she was on the faculty for Chapman University School of Music , California State University at Long Beach, Department of Theatre Arts and California State University at Fullerton, Theatre Department. Denise has also been a guest teacher/lecturer for many universities and organizations, such as:PICT0274.JPG (132771 bytes)

In addition to teaching the Alexander Technique, she has enjoyed many awards and prestige as a singer and actor. She has performed for over twenty years in Los Angeles, New York and all over the United States. Denise also holds a Master's Degree in Music from the prestigious Boston University College of Fine Arts . She has also trained in Graz, Austria at the American Institute for Musical Studies (AIMS). In 2003, she was selected for and completed the intensive training coursework for The Art of Breathing, which is a Graduate Training Program, under the Direction of Jessica Wolf, at the American Center for the Alexander Technique in New York City. Denise is also a member of Alexander Technique International (ATI) and was the Program Coordinator for the 2006 Annual National Meeting (AGM) of the AmSat membership.

In 2006, Denise, her husband, two dogs, and Bubba the cat moved to the Central Coast of California where she devotes herself to teaching voice and the Alexander Technique. Her studio is located in San Luis Obispo.
