The Art of SingingThe human voice is the most powerful and exhilarating of musical instruments! Singing should energize, invigorate and expand the consciousness of the listener and singer alike. The Voice is also an expression of what is going on mentally and physically with the user. Using your voice well means: • Using your voice fully and energetically for several hours per day, maintaining as much freedom and flexibility at the end of the session as you experienced in the beginning of the session. • Your voice should convey every nuance and dynamic that a song might require. Your voice must be a completely flexible and accurate instrument of expression and communication which remains under your control. • Never experiencing pain or discomfort while singing. You should not injure yourself in the process. Discover a proven method of singing customized to your specific needs and background. Learn to free your voice from unnecessary tensions that detract from spontaneity and the natural resonance of the body. The result is the expansion of range, breath, dynamics, and expressiveness in your voice. You will be guided to establish proper practice habits that will ensure safe and rapid progress. Especially important is how you treat this remarkable singing instrument when you are not making music. Thus begins an exciting journey into self-awareness. Singing is similar to studying any other musical instrument or speaking a foreign language. Learning is accelerated through repetition. Taking lessons is a commitment in learning about yourself. Singing is a skill that can reward anyone understanding the key ingredients: time and patience. For optimal results, private practice at home, in a quiet non-intrusive environment is required. Lessons are recorded for you on a professional CD recorder. All levels welcome.
